Coniferous Tall Oil (CTO), CAS 8002-26-4

Coniferous Tall Oil (CTO) is crude tall oil derived specifically from coniferous (softwood) species. It is produced by acidulating sulfate soap - either batch-wise or continuously - using sulfuric acid.
The composition and quality parameters of tall oil depend on the wood species used in kraft pulp production; coniferous sources yield the highest content of resin and fatty acids.
