Larch Tall Oil (LTO) is crude tall oil derived specifically from larch wood (Larix spp.). It is produced by acidulating sulfate soap - either batch-wise or continuously - using sulfuric acid. The composition of tall oil depends on the wood species used in kraft pulp production; larch yields a unique profile of resin and fatty acids.
